Studies have shown that Grandcarers desperately want regular relief from the Photo of lady having a restphysical and emotional demands of caring for their grandchild(ren), many of whom have complex problems. However, locating and accessing respite care that is affordable, safe and able to meet their (and their grandchildren’s) needs is problematic. It is, therefore, not uncommon for Grandcarers to voice considerable frustration at the extent of the effort required in finding information about respite care. And, anger when they find the services offered do not provide the type of care they expect, or are not available when needed.

… and then the respite camp that was organised for the school holidays was cancelled. I was just devastated ..., it was all too much and we were close to a breakdown.
